Pumpkin the Fall Prince

Woop woop!  My pumpkin tree yielded fruit.  "It could have remained on the vine a little longer" said my mom, what do I know.  This was my first attempt.  Will try again next year.

In the mean time, here is the fruit of my labor and this is what I made with it.  Caribbean style pumpkin chicken soup. This one is guaranteed to nourish while it assaults your taste buds with pleasure

Ginger Ginger great for a Multitude of stomach ailments

So I woke up in the morning to a punch in the stomach, and heartburn.  This one ran to the middle of my chest down the the top of my belly button.  An hour later I am at work laughing and playing with my toddlers.  What did I do?  Good old natural Ginger root tea.  16 oz worth would do the trick, along with drinking 12 ounces of room temperature water before and after drinking the tea.

Tea:
  • 1/2 a thumb size of Ginger root coarsely grated, pounded, or thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey or brown sugar
  • 32 oz water.
In a small pan, put water and ginger to boil until water is reduced to half the amount.  Add sweetener and sip.  Just the action of sipping this brew will make you feel like you are snuggling under your favorite blanket that you just laundered.  Inside and outside comfort
